Why choose Puppy Steps North Somerset?

Expert Training in Small Classes

Our qualified tutors are specialists in all things puppy and are here to help you navigate the many challenges that come with early puppyhood.

We’re passionate about giving you the knowledge and confidence to enjoy this special time with your pup - while helping you build the foundations for a lifetime of good habits.

That’s why we keep our class sizes small - so your puppy feels comfortable and you receive the personalised support you need.

Reward Based Training

Our classes are designed for young puppies aged 20 weeks or younger, giving you the perfect opportunity to build a solid foundation before those teenage hormones kick in!

You'll learn how to motivate your puppy using positive, reward-based methods so training is fun and effective for both of you.

Safe
Environment

Our priority is to cultivate a welcoming, relaxed environment where both you and your puppy feel comfortable and ready to learn together.

Classes are family-friendly - we know that consistency is the key to successful training so we allow everyone the chance to get involved.

If you have young children, we recommend bringing two adults (one to focus on your puppy and one to support your children) so the whole family can enjoy and benefit from the class.

What will you and your puppy learn?

Our comprehensive six-week course is designed to guide you and your puppy through all the essential training basics, helping you build a strong and lasting foundation together.

Settle

A vital but tricky skill for young puppies - we help them understand the concept of settling in a variety of places.

Lead Walking

A challenging skill to learn for puppies who are excited to explore the world! We teach techniques that set your puppy up for long-term success on walks.

Recall

We focus on developing a reliable and fast recall so your puppy comes when called - no matter the situation.

Socialisation

We will teach you how to guide your puppy through greeting people and other dogs calmly and confidently, plus build comfort with grooming and handling.

Common puppy challenges

Gain insight into your puppy’s body language, motivations, behaviours and more so you can effectively support them as they grow.

Following Cues

Learn methods to teach your puppy essential cued behaviours (sit, stay, etc.). We teach you essential training principles that can be used across a variety of cues.
